Who is presenting?

Allan Oas, a BCHIMPS Director, was a member of Toastmasters International for 26 years where he became an accomplished speaker and presenter. He has used, and benefitted from, his presentation and communication skills throughout his career.

What's with the "1-2-3"?

Our brains seem to like things in Threes. It is much easier to remember 3 things (instead of 7 or 8), and it is also much easier to create and deliver a speech or presentation with three main ideas. The number 3 also plays a very useful part in speech structure, content and preparation.

What will I learn at the September 19 session?

While at Toastmasters, Allan created an educational session based on the 1-2-3 concept for delivering impromptu speeches. For the BCHIMPS session, he has updated and expanded the material to also cover delivery of prepared speeches. He will also teach us how to introduce a speaker and will answer your questions on any aspect of public speaking and presentations.

Who is this for?

This educational session is free to BCHIMPS members.
